Happy Birthday to me!

It was that time of the year again!

Happy Birthday to me.

I had a great day with my two boys.

Ryan surprised me and took the day off to spend time with us.

We had a great breakfast of Caramel Lattes and Pain Chocolate, 

went shopping on Bay St. in Emeryville, 

had a quiet lunch while the baby fell asleep in the stroller,

and even stopped by Ikea...always fun.

Kylah was at school and volleyball practice at usual, 

but she surprised me with a 2lb bag of my favorite...Reese's peanut butter cups.

I am one lucky lady.

They make me the happiest.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes.

He must be getting ready for his bday!

The view was gorgeous as usual and I love looking at the chimes I got.

He fell asleep just in time for us to have a quiet lunch.

Taking a shopping break!

No teen sitter tonight, so we ordered scallops, wedge salad, creme brulle and sticky toffee pudding from the club to go.

He loved it!

My happiness!

My love!

Can't wait for this!

Brenden :: 23 Months

Happy 23 Months my love!

This is a couple of days late, but here it is.

What can I say, he is such a big boy and time went by way too quickly.

He is still a goofball and so very fun to be around,

fun to cuddle with and kiss,

and has more energy than I want him to have...he is such a boy!

 Enjoy!

28lbs, 2ft 11 inches

 

Favorite Foods

He eats everything....persimmons, grilled cheese, cereal, hamburgers.....but nuts, marshmallows, and whipped cream make him do the happy dance.

Favorite Words

 For some reason he loves to say punch! His vocabulary is growing each month and his new words are ...stuck, help, hungry, watch. He loves to say ant for elephant and no matter how many times we say.. you mean elephant he says yes ant. LOL

 

Favorite Toys

Power tools, starting to play with trains and his remote control police car.

Favorite Activities

He loves to be outside running around getting dirty or hanging out with daddy in the garage...and of course he loves his cartoons.  
 

Least Favorite Activities

Brushing his teeth, I have to pin him down every time. Ugggggh!

 

Signature Moves

He does this happy dance when he eats something delicious! His head rolls ever so slowly, his arms and body do this swaying motion. It's hilarious! Marshmallows and whipped cream get him every time. It's kind of sad to!

Other 23 Month Notables

+ The mullet is gone! He has a big boy haircut and all of his blonde curls have vanished.

+ Still breastfeeding... including at night. 

+He has a strong personality and knows what he wants, but he does get shy when new people come around.

+He can count to 5 all by himself!

+Like Ryan says...he is high maintenance!

Happy Halloween from Superman

Happy Halloween from Superman!

We went down south for a quick trip this weekend.

My parents got to spend time with the baby,

 Brenden went Trick or Treating for the first time on his own,

and we went to my 20 year High School reunion.

It was lots of fun.

He loved running around the Camarillo Outlets and didn't care about stopping for candy.

He loved eating grandma's Lumpia for the first time. He ate 2 of them!

First Haircut

So this happened yesterday after months of me putting it off!

I had to say goodbye to the long blond curls after 22 months.

Yes.... my heart stopped for a bit.

But it was time.

He was called a girl many times...even wearing obvious boy clothes and

 constantly was pushing his bangs out of his eyes. 

Super pathetic.

But I had to find the perfect place for his first haircut and it all worked out. 

We went to Sac to visit Ryan while at a conference 

and I found this place...

 EJ's Little People

and it happened to be right down the street. 

It was awesome!

They only do kids hair and have been in business since the 70's 

and had great reviews.

The stylist took his picture before and after, 

kept some of his curls for me in an envelope 

and created a cute certificate with all of this in it.

 It was perfect!

Baby cried the moment the stylist tried to touch him. 

That part was awful. 

I had to sit with him sitting on me, more like laying on me and 

tough out the entire cutting session.

Luckily, there were toys everywhere 

and thank god Ryan was there 

because he was able to distract him for minutes at a time...

just enough for her to cut something. 

She was sooooo patient.

Also, good thing for him coming

 because I was about to have her just clean up his curls

 and leave it a little bit long.

Anyway, he looks like my sweet boy....just much older. 

I can kiss his neck easily and his cute little ears are now exposed.

That's my handsome boy!

Boys will be boys

I can't believe that the holidays are almost here. 

Christmas shopping here I come!

I love making a list and getting everything wrapped and under the tree.

Well, not quiet yet!

We have a quick trip down south planned for

Brenden's 2nd Halloween

and my 20 year high school reunion.

Yup, it's official. 

I am old!

Then, Kylah starts tryouts for club season...it never ends,

finals for high school will still go on since they keep winning,

Thanksgiving in Southern California

 and a San Diego family wedding,

Seaworld to Celebrate Baby's 2nd birthday,

Christmas,

and I am trying to squeeze in a family vacation

 during New Year's in a tropical place.

Let's see how that all works out!

Happy Fall and many other things

Lots have been going on in our house. 

I can't post it all, but here are some things.

Brenden turned 22 months. 

OMG. Just stop now!

Terrible 2's have officially begun.

Kylah has been playing a lot on varsity 

and her team has won 9 out of 10 games so far.

I guess hoping for a short season was wishful thinking.

We officially went solar! No more electricity bills! 
I sold my first house!

Ryan got his hunting license....I know! That's what I'm thinking.

Harvest time has begun in the vineyards 

and the grapes are ready to be crushed.

It's Fall, but still hot.

More to come.
