Eat, Sleep, Play Volleyball

Kylah made the J.V Volleyball team!!!!!
Not bad for a Freshmen.
Congrats Girl.
I love you!

She is definitely going to eat, sleep, and play volleyball 24/7.
With school and practices, she won't get home til 8pm.
It's going to be a long season.

I found this picture of her when she first started playing volleyball at 9 years...with professional volleyball player Phil Dalhausser.

5 Things

It's Monday, Summer vacation is over and back to our daily routines.

Here's what's going on in our lives....

++  Kylah started 9th Grade today at Justin-Siena High School. Brenden and I dropped her off early this morning and she was so nervous and anxious about her classes, lockers, friends... Today begins her first day of wearing collared shirts! Also, she has her first day of Volleyball tryouts right after school. I know she will do awesome!

++ This is what I wake up next to. Lucky girl!

++ We found our "forever home" and we are currently in escrow!!!!!  Cross your fingers. It's been a long time of house searching and finding the perfect home for our family....this is it. The location is awesome and it has gorgeous views of the vineyard. We can't wait!

++ Someone loves Cherrios and baby wafers. He can't quite pick them up himself just yet. It's so cute to watch.

++ Pureed baby food is out the window. He hates it....closes his mouth to a spoon, makes yucky faces, and does not swallow. Good thing for him that he has 4 big teeth......so instead, I give him baby pieces of fruits and veggies instead.

A Pirate's Life For Me

We spent two entire days at Disneyland and California Adventures.
Pirate's of the Caribbean was Brenden's favorite ride.
We went on it twice and he was looking at everything very seriously
 and not even blinking.
The look on his face was priceless.
Other things he liked were the water fountain in Toontown, the fireworks at Disneyland, the music in It's a small World, the carousel,
and of course The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride...
because Ryan calls him Pooh Bear.
For his first time at Disneyland, he loved all of it.
So much that he didn't take long naps
and wanted to be carried most of the time.
It made us so happy to see him just take it all in.
Kylah's favorite ride was Tower of Terror....crazy I know!
She even made her best friend Emily go on it against her own will.
All of the sudden.....now she loves roller coasters...
good for her because I hate them.
The best part was that the girls would get a special pass for us
when they got on a ride
and then when they were finished, they would watch Brenden
while we went on the ride without having to wait in line.
That was awesome.
Ann met us the second day at California Adventures
and even spent the night at the beach house with us.
It was special for Kylah and Brenden to be able to spend time with her....
she even got a little tour of the island the next morning.
We all had a great time at the happiest place on earth!

Thanks Annie!

Very, very early arrival....

Emily and Kylah ready to start the day.

Good thing for short wait times.
 A little cat nap.

Silly girls!

He was totally into it.

Kylah getting an early morning splash.
Obsessed with the water fountain.

He did awesome on all of the rides.

Waiting for fireworks to start.

He was not tired at all...I was!

I see you!

Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land was so fun.

Knocked out in his special Mickey ears. Thanks Jen!

Annie came to spend the day with us.

Balboa Island

We just came back from our vacation at the beach house on Balboa Island.
It is always a special time when we are there.
That was where Ryan and I shared our first kiss and also the site we chose for our engagement pictures.

Ryan also has many fun memories there when he was a child, so bringing us there makes it even more special.
This was Brenden's first time there and he absolutely loved it... of course he got so much attention from everyone because he is so darn irresistible.
It was nice that both sides of our family visited us there too.
Also, Kylah invited her best friend Emily to make the trip down south and spend the week with us.

The week just flew by!
 We celebrated Kylah's 14th birthday and Brenden's 8 Month,
 spent hours at the beach,
lots of walking around the island with the stroller,
admiring all of the historical old cottages and amazing new beach mansions...dreaming of one day owning our own beach house,
hungry for many frozen bananas and balboa bars,
 shopping around the cute boutiques,
riding on the ferry to the fun zone,
shell picking,
 paddling around the island,
  people watching on our porch,
and of course spending two entire days at
 Disneyland and California Adventures.
What fun!

We should have each only packed one backpack for the week...so he says...Hilarious!

Early morning breakfast stop on our way down south.

Kylah's birthday cake awaits.

We made it!

It must be summer, lots of cars coming onto the island.

The beach house.
