The Garden Island

We are finally home from vacation!
After returning home for a day,
we drove down south to go to EJ's police academy graduation,
then finally home this morning for Kylah's volleyball tournament tomorow.
Now we need a vacation from our vacation!

Kauai was very beautiful and we will definitely go back.
By far the most beautiful island, more remote and very laid back compared to the other islands....but we loved it.
Traveling with a 2 year old leads to a different type of vacation.
Brenden and I had a little cold before we left and
although I got better, his got worse.
So, with the time change and a sick baby we were all adjusting to island life.
Ziplining, snorkeling, helicopter rides and long hikes were out of the question,
instead we found secret beaches,
went on long drives searching for waterfalls and hidden caves,
and just relaxed.
Everywhere was a postcard picture.
Lots of ocean views, waterfalls, umbrella drinks, wet and dry caves, shave ice, beach fun, rivers, egg hunting, taro fields, chickens,
visiting my friend Tifney's home,
and a Chuck Norris sighting while shopping.
Hoping for many more of our travels.
Enjoy!

Thank god for Disney movies on the ipad!

First of the umbrella drinks at Duke's

Love shave ice

Fresh malasadas are so delicious

Shopping in Hanalei

Shopping with Chuck Norris.

Egg hunting at the Westin

Happy Easter!

Visited my ex-teacher friend Tifney who lives on the island.

Fresh coconut juice. Now we can't ever drink the boxed stuff...no comparison.

Brenden loved the chickens

Pineapples

Loved visiting her orchard.

Kylah is in the background. One of the many secret local beaches.

This was our favorite places where the river and the ocean were in one spot.

Cheers! At Dolphin Sushi on the river

They cheers too!

My beach boy!
The beaches were breathtaking

Taro fields

Happiness!

Chickens everywhere

Wet caves

Views at the St. Regis

Throwing sand and getting dirty

Freshly picked flowers and fruits...and eggs

My newest ornament...from Kauai.

Spring is in the air

All I want to do is to start packing for Kauai!
Can't wait to explore this new island with my loves.

But I can't complain,
the weather up here has been beautiful
and we have been spending lots of time outdoors.
From removing the rest of the pine stumps,
planting lots of fruit trees,
going on bike rides,
playing in the water, and
riding in the golf cart everyday.

AND...Kylah got her driver's permit!
I can't even talk about that right now because it seems unreal to me.

Ryan is working so much over time working on this special project at work.
So much, they refer to them as The Money Team!

Work for me has been gratifying, I really enjoy it and love that I make my own schedule and am still able to be at home with B.

Baby and I drove down south by ourselves
to visit my grandpa after his hip surgery.
The surgery went well and the baby was sooooo good on the drive.
My parents loved every minute of being with him.

He talks more and more everyday and is such a big boy.
It's amazing watching him grow up and know that this time will fly by.

Enjoy!

3 generations of Andersens

Playing in dirt is his favorite

Loves sitting on the fence

Checking out the freshly cut vines

Picking out fruit trees

And getting dirty of course

Lemon, lime and orange trees went up

We can't wait for the cherry trees to grow

Apricot trees are starting to flower

Sporting Daddy's money team hat

We love riding in the golf cart everyday!

Where's the baby? He loves riding around in this.

Such a boy!
Sunny days!

Happy St. Paddy's Day
 XO,

Tania
